Tag Archives: honey

Recently a couple of my classmates at Simon Fraser University introduced my cohort to their honey bee hives. The bees made wonderful teachers, instilling calmness in us and opening up paths to self-reflection. After the class spent some time individually taking turns sitting beside the hives, we agreed that their busyness and focus created a stillness in our human bodies. The bees invited us into presence.

The bees then ventured onto a poster made for Young Agrarians. After all, a hive almost seemed like the ultimate potluck party!
